Early 70’s Wallpaper Quilt
Color Workshop
After more than two years, I got to teach Color Workshop again! I’d only taught it once before Covid and then we took a long break. The participants had a lot of A-ha! moments and they appeared to have a lot of fun. I know I had a blast leading the experience.
About the Color Workshop
We do several cooperative learning activities in the basic It’s More Than Color class, but in that class, participants don’t get a lot of time to work on their own real projects. This is where the 2 part workshop comes in. Part 1 is building a color palette from an inspiration (like a focus fabric), then translating the palette into fabrics and placement ideas. Part 2, Making It Mine, includes 25 ways to modify an inspiration quilt to make it more interesting and pleasing to you.

Coming Up
This weekend is a state level Open/Senior doubles tournament. I’m the Senior and I’ve got a really talented Open partner that throws the ball extremely well. We’ve got a great chance to do finish high.
Early July I’m in Las Vegas for the True Amateur Tour (not as amateur as it sounds) and for my team’s turn at the USBC’s Open Championships (Nationals). Never bowled the TAT before - that week will be an experience!
Next Time
I’ve got this itch to do some quilting on an existing project or two. However, diving into a brand new project like the 70’s Wallpaper quilt was so refreshing that I may just start something entirely new and unknown. Of course, I may work on a border for the 70’s Wallpaper quilt - I honestly don’t know what we’ll see next time.
Quilt your way!
