First time I added quilting just to make the back look better.71” x 71”2014 (started in 1996)1st in category - Tucson Quilters Guild 2014 View fullsize For my first 28 years, I quilted everything on a small domestic machine - and I loved doing things that some long-arm quilters were reluctant to do like change threads often, both front and back View fullsize This was the moment when I knew I loved the effort of changing bobbin threads - and also that I loved brushed cotton on the back View fullsize Washed and ready to bind - I could hardly contain my excitement; I think I liked the back better than the front View fullsize Summer Love is the first quilt where I added quilting (the pebbles outlining the flowers) just to make the back look better - it's almost unnoticeable on the front View fullsize I still can't believe I changed bobbin threads to a brighter blue just to add some detail to make the back prettier - LEFT circle flowers have the additional detail in the small flower petals, RIGHT circle flowers haven't had the detail added yet View fullsize The dots quilted in the darker orange thread really adds something to the flowers
