Squiggle Flower

The Windowpane Circles quilt got its simple border - maybe we’ll see it again this autumn during quilting season.

Feeling like more fun (and being bombarded with inspiration from places like Pinterest), I started another new project. After all, August is my birthday month - shouldn’t I just do fun stuff?

Auditions and Choices

This will be more of a picture blog..

I started drawing the squiggle flower petals in my vector software near the end of July so I’ve been working on this project for about four weeks.

Yellows and blacks were the first easy choices.

Rainbow fabric wins for the middle.

None of these solid fabric backgrounds win - but I do love that light green with dots!

Let’s see which of these wins. Or something else entirely?

Squiggle Flower Inspiration

One of Matt W. Moore’s graphic flowers was the inspiration for my Squiggle Flower. I’ll always credit his inspiration. I may be transforming this enough - we’ll see when I’m done. If not, I’ll get to start a conversation.

Matt’s work is amazing - check it out!!!

Bowling

Leaving tomorrow morning for a big $10k tournament - the New Mexico Open. In the previous two NMO events, I’ve had top 24 and top 6 finishes.

Next Time

After four weeks of teaching, I’m off until the end of September. The fall calendar is out - check out the new events here.

More flower work coming up? Or start quilting again? Maybe it’s still too hot to start quilting now… We’ll see how I feel when I get back from Albuquerque.

Quilt your way!
