Catching Up - Applique Class

Beginning Turned-Edge Machine Applique Class
Someone talked me into using a new block for the beginning applique class so anyone talking the class could make Tilda’s Putting Down Roots Quilt - a free pattern available in the Collections section at tildasworld.com
Maybe sometimes you want to read and maybe sometimes you just want to look at pictures. Today I hope you just want to look at pictures because today I’m just going to throw some pictures at you. Below are my adaptations of the blocks from Tilda’s Putting Down Roots Quilt.
And once again, I had a lot of fun choosing backgrounds and dots.
Helping to Delay
the Third Death
To honor and help remember a dear friend, I’m recreating a portion of one of her quilts in a different format. Timna Tarr’s book Stitched Photo Mosaic Quilting is being very helpful.
The first image below is a edited photo with only one ballerina. The second image has been blown up to like 3’x5’ and some of the border is getting planned. Which eyes? And in the third, I’ve finalized the border and started planning the tutu and headpiece. No stitching and no applique yet. Still don’t know which eyes to choose….
Bowling
Four September tournaments -
cashed in a local scratch event,
missed the cut in a state semi-pro event,
cashed in another local scratch event, and
tomorrow (October 1) I’m bowling in the finals of a regional PBA event
