Piper’s Quilt
Although I wanted to visually stimulate newborn Piper with her colorful baby quilt, I didn’t actually get it to Piper until she was 6… She still loves it.
45” x 45”
2020 (started in 2014)
Piper's Quilt almost ended up on a dark brown background
I cut the applique foundation for the rings and dots with a die cutter and learned how to use a rotary cutter on a compass to cut the fabric with a turn-under allowance
Machine appliquéing turned-edge rings and dots
I like to do as much of my machine applique on smaller units before they're appliquéd into the larger piece
Planning the final border using as many dots as possible from my unused applique shape stash
