You Are Here Now
Made as part of a group challenge. The center was “Place”. The middle border was “Words”. And the final border was “Geometry”.
You Are Here Now was designed to help me focus, center, and be present in the current moment - I thought a target might help
Sometimes you buy a fabric because you love it even though you're not sure how you'll ever use it and then the perfect project shows up and you quickly web search and buy more of it... =)
The central medallion was looking a bit too much like a popular store's logo so some applique adornment was added
Planning the final border
You might think the placement of the colorful strips was random but some care was taken to place them just right
The light row looks really cool - I'm not sure how I did that other than put the lighter fabrics in the middle...
Originally the outside border was going to have four different black and white prints behind the colorful sticks - until I fell in love with the fun, moody, and haunting faces
